the hunger games is leaded by the cruel capitol, panem, that rules over 12 districts.

Once every year the capitol hold the Hunger games, where one girl and one boy from from the ages 12 to 18 from all 12 districts have to go into a forest-like arena and and fight till the death while trying to live of the resources, last one standing wins and goes back to thier district as a rich celebrity!
